Malawi Blogger Brai

It has been over a month since our first Malawi Blogger get together, so I think it is time to do it again. This Friday evening, will be Malawi's first ever Blogger Brai held at my house. It is a strictly BYOB event. This means you must bring a blogger if you want to burn beef on the BBQ. We'll get going around seven. Post a comment below if you are planning on coming to give me an idea about numbers.

Directions to my house:

From the Capital Hotel drive up Capital Hill and turn right on Chayamba then left on Blantyre. Turn right about half a kilometer after the four way stop (there will be sign for Kuka lodge). Our house will be on the right side 43/2/223.
(Click here for a map with a blue pointer over my house)

Perhaps you don't have plans for Friday night, but are not yet a blogger. No problem - just go to Blogger and set up a free blog and write your first post. Then come to the brai and tell us about your experience.

Hi MIke!!! Wonderful that you've organized this. Will be there for sure and will make the post on my own site as soon as I get some work done today :)

  2. Tess says:

Jim and I will be there too!

    cheers,
    ;) tess

Looks like fun. I'll be there if I can borrow my friend's car - mine's in the shop getting the engine rehauled. A 3 in 4 chance, maybe?

  4. Mike says:

Thanks for the positive responses everybody. It looks like we are going to have no problem getting a larger turnout than last time. This is great, except that it means I am actually going to have to be somewhat organized. So this comment area is an attempt to be our organization point. I think our biggest challenge is going to be transport. Area 43 is not the easiest for people to get to and from when you don't have a car. That said, a number of us have cars and are happy to drive people. So if you need a ride, post where you will be, and we can sort out drivers. I don't want transport to stop any blogger from joining us.

Don't feel like you have to bring anything unless you really want to or we find out you are really good at making something. I know Zac is a potato salad critic (perhaps the starting point for a blog?), so I think he should bring his favorite. Jennifer is vegetarian, so maybe she can arrange some veggie grillers. If someone wants to bring a dessert that would be great. I will provide meat and whatever else grabs my attention at the store. I will also have a few crates of drinks on hand.

Right now we are looking to be about 15-20 people.

Alright people - lets do it.

  5. Austin says:

I'll be driving from Area 3 via Area 15, picking up one or two people along the way. That leaves space for one or two. So if you are along that route, you know what to do.

  6. Jesse says:

Jennifer and I will be there and can assist with carpooling.

  7. Zach says:

Excellent - Deb and I will be coming from Area 3 with potato salad and room for carpoolers.

  8. Mike says:

Okay. Looks like we have multiple vegetarians. Adjusting meat purchasing... Does anybody still need a ride?

  9. Soyapi says:

Looking forward to meeting you all tonight.

    Thanks Mike for hosting!
